De Donkere Kamer also brings photography closer to the general public through unique photography exhibitions. Both well-known photographers and new talent from home and abroad are given opportunities through The Darkroom to show their work to the world. At the moment there is no exhibition running, but we will of course launch the next one here (and in the newsletter).

Helmut Newton - Legacy
Knokke-Heist - summer 2022
Top photographer Helmut Newton (1920 - 2004) was the first to turn fashion and advertising photography into an animated art. His oeuvre covers five decades of fascinating photography. In the summer of 2022, the Ravelingen building in Knokke-Heist was the setting for this unique expo, in cooperation with the municipality of Knokke-Heist and the Helmut Newton Foundation. Thousands of visitors discovered more than 300 iconic photographs: sometimes provocative, sometimes never shown before, often glamorous, always powerful. A surprising cultural excursion on the coast for a wide audience.
